To You, Women

Elsa Martinelli, throughout her career as a model and actress, has certainly tried her fair share of cosmetics. What does she prefer? “Regular exercise is more effective than expensive stimulating creams, and sleep is a wonderful tonic.” Barbara Buchet, a younger actress, believes that a balanced life and a calm love are essential for a woman’s beauty. A weekly face mask or compress, along with daily cream for the face and neck, is more than enough. It’s clear that those with oily or combination skin should cleanse their faces every two weeks. Once a week, a soak in a hot bath with herbal infusions tailored to your skin type is beneficial, and a brief daily shower is also recommended. Don’t forget to massage rough skin on your hands and feet with a pumice stone and apply a thick layer of cream afterward. After each bath, remember to wipe your body with oil or lotion. When it comes to washing hair, opinions are divided. Some say to wash less frequently, while others advocate for washing as often as possible. But life suggests that you should wash your hair as often as it needs it. Proponents of the first method argue that our great-grandmothers washed their hair once a month and it looked beautiful. Undoubtedly… if it weren’t for the unfortunate impact of civilization. It’s similar to collecting rainwater, which was once considered the best method for washing hair and cleansing the face, but in today’s polluted environment, that’s probably not advisable. I intentionally won’t delve into body care because so much has already been said on the topic that it’s pointless to repeat it for the tenth time. I won’t mention obvious things like brushing teeth or trimming nails, either. The key requirement here is consistency.

Day Off. Everyone should organize their affairs so that they have more free time on Sundays. Do only what you want to do. You can sleep in, read a book, play with the kids, visit friends, or dedicate time to a hobby. But here’s a small note: “encourage” your family members to join in. For example, if your husband loves to sleep in, let him, while you visit a colleague in the afternoon, and he can watch the child during that time. Mutual tolerance and a good sense of humor are two conditions that guarantee a long-lasting marriage, and these two qualities are often hard to find in women. It’s clear that even during the week, you need to carve out time for relaxation. Natural human desires for pleasure are often pushed aside by daily chores and worries. So, if you’re faced with the choice of going to the movies or standing in line for the latest “shopping junk,” think about whether that item is truly necessary. Over the years, however, we should shift our focus from external beauty to internal well-being. As women age, they can become even more attractive, especially if they combine care for their appearance with spiritual self-improvement. Yes, indeed! In these times, it’s easy to become complacent. After all, it’s known that those who stand still are moving backward. So, if you watch the news daily and read at least one favorite magazine each week, that’s enough to keep you “on the same wavelength” as men. Remember the exact words of Magdalena Samozvanets: “A man won’t notice the wrinkles under a woman’s eyes who shares his thoughts, but he will certainly notice them on her stockings.” However, since almost every woman has a nagging voice inside her asking, “Why live this way?” let’s explore how each of us can answer the question of what is more important to us and in what direction we want to fulfill our desires.

Here are five points to help us give aging a run for its money.

I. Eat less, but eat healthily.

II. Get plenty of movement and exercise.

III. Limit alcohol, nicotine, and spices.

IV. Prioritize sleep and rest.

V. Engage in work and activities you love.
