YOUR HANDS …

Yes, indeed, our hands can be chapped, scratched, and burned, as they are constantly working and being put to the test. Yet every woman desires her hands to be kissed, to have a beautiful and delicate appearance.

So how do we take care of them? Washing your hands with warm water is essential, as it opens up the pores and allows for better cleansing. To maintain skin elasticity, apply special creams as often as possible. While doing this, give yourself a massage from the tips of your fingers to your elbows. Clench your fingers into fists and rotate your wrists in both directions a few times. This improves circulation and alleviates fatigue.

What about saving cracked skin? At least once a day, don’t hesitate to soak your hands in a bath of whey or buttermilk. If the cracks are deep, soak your hands in a starch solution (one tablespoon per liter of water), then rinse with warm water and apply glycerin. At night, it’s beneficial to wear cotton gloves. A potato broth can whiten and soften the skin, so don’t throw it away; instead, keep it for the evening to soak your hands for at least 10-15 minutes.

Keep in mind that even minor scratches can lead to various skin conditions. Therefore, treat them immediately with hydrogen peroxide or antiseptic, bandage them up, and wear a finger cot if you continue with household chores.

And overall, I want to remind women: always take care of your hands. When taking something out of the oven, don’t rush—put on gloves, as burns (especially those that blister) take a long time to heal. If you do get burned, immediately apply sunflower oil or a slice of raw potato to the affected area. When painting your nails, wear rubber gloves. If you’re working in the garden or carrying plant debris, don’t forget to protect your hands. Only under these conditions will your skin retain its firmness and elasticity.

And hands look beautiful when the nails are well-groomed.
A manicure, if done weekly, takes no more than 15 minutes. You can easily fit this into your schedule while watching TV. Gather everything you need: a bowl of warm soapy water, a towel, a nail file, clippers, a wooden stick with a tapered end, nourishing cream, nail polish remover, and nail polish. First, remove the old polish. Then soak your hand in warm water for a few minutes. Carefully trim your nails with the clippers, and then gently trim the skin around them. Shape your nails with the file and apply cream to the skin around your nails.

Apply nail polish in two coats. Ideally, it should match your lipstick. If not, it’s better to choose soft pastel shades for your nails. Bright polish is not recommended for those with wide, short nails; a soft pink is a better choice. Red polish with various sparkles looks stunning on long, beautifully shaped nails.

Women often ask how to care for their nails to prevent them from becoming brittle. Soaking them in warm sunflower or olive oil, with a few drops of lemon juice added, can strengthen them. It’s also beneficial to apply oil solutions of vitamins A and D to your nails. Our grandmothers had another method—wax thimbles. They would melt wax and dip their fingertips into it, then sleep with it on. In the morning, they would remove it.

We hope all our tips help you strengthen your nails. However, if they are naturally soft, it’s better to keep them neat and short.
