Every host preparing to welcome guests has their go-to signature dish in mind. We’re excited to share a new recipe that you might want to add to your repertoire. And when guests arrive unexpectedly, quick and easy sandwiches will come to your rescue.
Start by washing the meat, then sprinkle it with caraway seeds and sear it on all sides. Transfer it to a roasting pan, pour in the fat left from frying, and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of water. Place it in the oven and roast, basting it frequently with the juices that accumulate. Once the meat is golden brown and tender, add the prunes (make sure to wash them and soak them in cold water beforehand to plump them up) and continue to braise until fully cooked, adding a little water as needed.
This dish can be served on an elongated platter. Thinly sliced pork loin is placed on toast, surrounded by prunes, and drizzled with the meat sauce. Serve grated horseradish on the side, seasoned with salt, vinegar, and sugar.
1.5 kg of pork loin, 3 tablespoons of lard, 300 g of prunes, caraway seeds, salt.
