8 cups of watermelon cubes (about 1 inch) without seeds (approximately 4.4 lbs of watermelon)
1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
3 1/2 cups of water
1 cup of granulated white sugar
For serving:
ice cubes or frozen watermelon cubes
lemon wedges and/or watermelon slices
Combine the watermelon and lemon juice in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
Strain through a sieve to remove any pulp or seeds.
Pour into a pitcher.
In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Pour the hot syrup into the pitcher with the lemonade.
Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
Fill glasses with ice (or frozen watermelon cubes) and pour in the watermelon lemonade.
