Discovering a Hidden Museum of Miniatures
What kind of museum is this? It’s hard to describe at first glance… You really have to see it. But not just with the naked eye; you need to examine it closely, almost with a magnifying glass. Inside a matchstick, there’s a chamber just two millimeters deep. On its walls, you can find intricate depictions of the Moscow Kremlin, the building of the University on Lenin’s Hills, the Bolshoi Theatre, and a panoramic view of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy of the USSR along with its pavilions. All these images are painted in detail with oil paints.
What kind of brush could the artist have used if the artwork is invisible to the naked eye? Who created this masterpiece?
The miniature artist from Yerevan, Eduard Kazaryan, crafted this work using a human hair instead of a traditional brush, and he even sharpened it to capture the fine details of the buildings he depicted.
