Handmade Python

One day, a farmer from Flores Island (part of the Lesser Sunda Islands) returned from the forest with a wriggling bag. The neighborhood kids surrounded him, each eager to see what was inside. But when one curious child managed to peek into the bag, he ran out of the hut in sheer fright. Inside was a baby python.

Time passed, and the python grew into a full-sized snake, weighing 140 kilograms (about 310 pounds) and measuring nearly 6 meters (around 20 feet) long. Yet, it remained gentle and obedient. The python became so attached to its owner that it followed him everywhere, like a loyal dog, even helping him with his work.

For instance, when the farmer goes to the garden to harvest crops, the python climbs up into the trees and shakes down only the ripe fruits, leaving the green ones to mature.
