Fish Meatballs on a Potato Bed

Ingredients:

  • Fish mince – 500-700 g (about 1.1-1.5 lbs)
  • Potatoes – 5-7
  • Eggs – 3 + 1 yolk
  • Onions – 2
  • Flour – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Dill and lettuce leaves for serving

Instructions:

  1. Season the fish mince with salt and pepper, then add one egg and the chopped onions.
  2. Boil the potatoes until tender, let them cool, and then mash them with a potato masher. Add the flour, two eggs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Grease your hands with vegetable oil. Shape the potato mixture into small cups for the meatballs.
  4. Place the formed balls of fish mince on top of the potato cups.
  5. Lightly brush the potato cups with the beaten egg yolk.
  6. Bake in the oven until golden brown.
  7. Serve the finished dish on lettuce leaves and garnish with chopped dill.
