Bread Kvass and Compote


How to Make Bread Kvass!
Cut rye bread into slices and dry them in the oven.
Place the dried bread in jars, add dissolved yeast and sugar, then pour in warm boiled water and let it sit in a warm place for 3-4 days.
Strain the finished kvass.
Store it in the refrigerator.
Ingredients: 500g of bread (about 1.1 lbs), 3 liters of water (about 12.7 cups), 15g of yeast, and a tablespoon of sugar.

AND ALSO – COMPOTE
In slightly acidified water (with vinegar or citric acid), add any berries and fruits you have at home.
Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add sugar to taste and place it in a cool spot to let the compote steep.
Serve it cold in a pitcher…
