WHAT NOT TO ALLOW A CHILD?

It’s quite likely that the sound of a spoon clattering to the floor or a puddle of jelly forming on the table that a little one can splash in will bring them joy. However, in such situations, it’s important to be firm. You should calmly but decisively stop any attempts by your child to flip their soup bowl or dig their fingers into their porridge, making it clear that this behavior is not acceptable.

If you don’t address this behavior right away and then suddenly decide to enforce rules later, you’re bound to face trouble and hurt feelings. Your child needs to learn that the dining table is not a place for play. And, of course, they won’t grasp this simple truth if you’re giving them toys during mealtime while trying to feed them quickly.

Naturally, you can’t expect your little one to sit still and only open their mouth during meals. Engage them in conversation, and try to spark their interest in the delicious dishes and the process of eating.
