5 simple tests to determine biological age.

Your physical condition doesn’t always match your age on paper. Discover your true age through a few simple tests and draw your conclusions.

Quick Check

1. Measure your pulse: before and after doing 30 dynamic squats. The difference in numbers correlates with your health age:

  • over 40 – 60 years;
  • 30 to 40 – 50 years;
  • 20 to 30 – 40 years;
  • 10 to 20 – 30 years;
  • Under 10 – 20 years.

2. Pinch the skin on your wrist and hold it for five seconds. Release your fingers and observe how quickly the pale skin returns to its normal color:

  • 15 seconds – 60 years;
  • 10 seconds – 50 years;
  • 8 seconds – 40 years;
  • 5 seconds – under 30 years.

3. While standing, bend forward and try to touch the floor with your palms. Evaluate the result:

  • palms only reach the knees – over 60 years;
  • hands reach only the shins – 50 years;
  • fingers touch the floor – 40 years;
  • palms rest on the floor – between 20 and 30 years.

4. With your hands behind your back, clasp them together at your shoulder blades:

  • unable to bring hands behind your back – 60 years;
  • cannot touch hands together – 40 years;
  • just touching with fingers – 30 years;
  • easy to do – 20 years.

5. Close your eyes and balance on one leg without support – switch between left and right. How long can you hold this position:

  • up to 10 seconds – over 60 years;
  • 15 seconds – 50 years;
  • 20 seconds – 40 years;
  • over 30 seconds – 20 years.

If the results are not satisfactory, work on improving your health.

Time to Gather Stones

The fear of aging is scientifically known as gerontophobia. This painful perception of aging manifests not only as a fear of losing former beauty and strength but also as a dislike for the elderly, who embody our own future. Often, the first signs of aging provoke an inadequate reaction: some fight against it and try to “fool” time, while others fall into depression.

Ignoring age-related changes is a mistake made by many mature individuals. Acknowledging the years lived is essential for adjusting one’s lifestyle and appearance. Inappropriate behavior, clothing style, makeup, and hairstyles can elicit sympathy from those around us. On the other hand, neglecting self-care can lead to disdain. So, giving up is not an option.

Even a half-hour of muscle activity throughout the day can help with the task of rejuvenation. Doctors emphasize the benefits of regular walks, as a lack of movement critically affects the condition of blood vessels and blood sugar levels. However, moderation is key: both a decrease in physical activity and a sudden increase can contribute to joint aging.

It’s important to embrace your age organically and face aging with dignity, adjusting to new realities while maintaining an interest in current events and the world around you. A balanced lifestyle and moderate, beneficial activities that earn the respect of society is the right approach.
