As the famous gangster Al Capone said, you can achieve much more with a kind word and a gun than with just a kind word. This week, we celebrate the birthday of a man with perhaps the most masculine surname – Browning. His calling card could be considered the Colt M1911 – a semi-automatic, long-barreled, seven-shot pistol that remains one of the most popular designs in the world today. Since 1911, 3 million units have been produced.
However, in John Moses Browning’s arsenal (January 21, 1855 – November 26, 1926), there is also, for example, the automatic “9 mm Browning pistol model 1903.” The design was developed so professionally that it remained in production for 37 years.
In summary, after living for 71 years, Browning created 37 models of rifled firearms and 18 smoothbore specimens, obtaining a large number of patents for his inventions.
I wonder if there will come a time when humanity will have only kind words in its arsenal, rather than weapons. What do you think?
