Dex Hunter-Torrike, former head of Google DeepMind, a leading AI research company, has issued a stark warning about a global catastrophe caused by (AI). He has crafted communication strategies for key figures in Silicon Valley and now shares a critical perspective on the in relation to AI.
According to Hunter-Torrike, the rapid development of AI will leave behind a tiny elite class living in luxury, while the majority of the planet’s population will suffer. He noted that artificial intelligence is transforming society much faster than it can prepare for these changes.
The expert claims that leaders of major tech companies are steering society toward radical and catastrophic transformations.
In his view, the elite class will have the means to live extravagantly, with access to the latest medical advancements that can extend . Meanwhile, the majority of the world’s population will face “permanently limited” economic prospects, access to healthcare, and political power.
Most importantly, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence will lead to the automation of many jobs.

Our Tomorrow is Harsh Beyond Imagination
Hunter-Torrike asserts that estimates from the International Monetary Fund, which suggest that 60 percent of jobs are vulnerable to , underestimate the real consequences.
He believes that developments in the field are leading to a more universal form of AI, which could be applied to virtually any task or activity, as reported by Daily Mail.
While the industrial revolution replaced manual labor with machines, it also opened new opportunities for jobs that require thinking and decision-making.
However, since a universal form of AI is capable of handling everything, it could impact the job market on a scale we can hardly imagine today.
Hunter-Torrike emphasized, “Productivity gains will be real, but there is no automatic mechanism to ensure widespread prosperity. The most likely outcome is an economy where corporate profits soar as labor costs decline, while the labor share of production shrinks. Wealth will concentrate at the top at an unprecedented rate, while a vast middle class loses ground.”
The former executive predicts that these changes are likely to lead to mass political upheaval.
Currently, Hunter-Torrike has founded a new nonprofit organization in London called the Center for Tomorrow, dedicated to exploring the impact of AI on the future of humanity.
He shared his grim forecast shortly after the founder of leading AI company Anthropic, who stated “The world is in danger!” resigned, expressing similar concerns that humanity is unprepared for the consequences of widespread AI implementation.
