A wonder catamaran resembling a vintage car.

The recently presented concept of the Decadence catamaran impresses with its incredible design. This amazing sea vessel of the future resembles a giant retro car.

Its developer, British designer Andy Wo, drew inspiration from the design of early 20th-century American cars, specifically the Auburn Boattail Speedster. The concept is that this vessel is meant to “embody the spirit of the 1920s, known for its extraordinary achievements in the automotive and aviation industries.”

The construction of the wonder catamaran.

As the designer notes, the Decadence catamaran will feature four giant tear-shaped wings (sponsons) that resemble car wheels. From these, the crew can deploy enormous inflatable sails to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption by approximately 30%.

The length of the innovative catamaran will reach 80 meters, its width will be 30 meters, and its weight will be 5,000 tons. The stability of this incredible vessel will be ensured by the submerged cylindrical hulls. According to the developer, they will provide the ship with “a reduction in pitch and roll motion of approximately 70% compared to a conventional monohull vessel.”

Moreover, crew areas and technical equipment can be located in sponsons (projections extending from the sides of the vehicle for protection, stability, or storage – Ed.) and underwater hulls. The latter makes Decadence similar to a “small twin-hulled hydroplane.” Thus, this catamaran will have more space for guest functions.

The head of Andy Waugh Yacht Design and the author of the concept for this marvel of a vessel notes that such a configuration opens up numerous new possibilities for creative interior planning and space. For example, the owner’s cabin can be 20 meters wide and 30 meters long, with a ceiling height of 3 meters.

As noted Daily Mail The design of the amazing catamaran includes space for two 14-meter tenders (flat-bottomed motorboats with a shallow draft – Ed.) from Skyline Yacht. One area will have an open deck, while the other will feature a fully enclosed cabin. As the project designer notes, the tenders can be “used as luxurious shuttles to the shore with increased capacity and comfort.”

In search of a potential client.

This unique wonder vessel will not come cheap. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of building the stunning new catamaran Decadence will range from 250 to 350 million euros, or 376 million dollars.

Currently, this design is just a concept. However, Vo notes that construction of this catamaran can begin as soon as a potential buyer with the necessary budget appears. The designer believes that the realization of the mega-luxury project Decadence will take 3-4 years.

It should be noted that Andy Wo completed a prestigious course in transport design at Coventry University. He previously worked at the London firm H2 Yacht Design. His first major project was the award-winning superyacht Meya Meya. The designer also worked on the development of vessels nearly 122 meters in size.

Currently, Vo has his own company that is working on an order for a new vessel for an American tech billionaire at Dorries Yachts in Bremen, Germany. With significant experience in the design and construction of luxury yachts, Andy Vo is capable of bringing the Decadence project to life. The only challenge is to attract the attention of the wealthy individual who wishes to own this incredible catamaran.
