Bite-Sized Candy Balls for Tea

candy balls

These little candy balls are absolutely delicious. I suggest making them for your mom.
For the balls, you’ll need 200g of butter (about 14 tablespoons), 1.5 cups of flour, 5 egg yolks, 6 tablespoons of smetana (a thicker, tangier Eastern European-style sour cream), and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
Grate the butter, mix it with the flour, then add the egg yolks, smetana, and baking soda. Next, form small balls, place them on a baking sheet, and bake in the oven.
While the balls are baking, let’s prepare a sweet sauce: combine 8 tablespoons of milk, 100g of butter (about 7 tablespoons), 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder, and 2 cups of sugar. Heat this mixture over low heat, stirring until it becomes smooth. Remove from heat. Now, grate 2 packages of wafers.
Once the balls have cooled, take them one by one, generously coat them with the liquid mixture, and then roll them in the crushed wafers.
