Cucumber Face Masks and Lotions for Dry Skin (and One for Oily Skin)

Cucumber masks

Mix 3–4 tablespoons grated cucumber with 2 tablespoons fresh sour cream (a thicker, tangier dairy product common in Eastern Europe). Apply the mixture to your face and neck. After 20 minutes, rinse the mask off with warm, boiled water. Repeat this treatment once a week.

Place 4–5 cucumber slices in 1/2 cup chilled, boiled milk. Use this cucumber milk to wipe your face several times a day. Store it in the refrigerator for no more than 2–3 days.

For oily skin, combine the juice of a large cucumber with two egg whites whipped to a froth, then add a cup of boiled water cooled to room temperature. Use this lotion to remove makeup and cleanse your skin a couple times a day.

Gently massage your face with a piece of cucumber several times a day. Add 2–3 tablespoons of boric alcohol to the cucumber juice to make a cleansing lotion. This lotion cleanses the skin well. Store it in the refrigerator.
