When American designer Steve Kozloff designed this luxurious steel… vessel He thought about his wife Terry and the many underwater adventures that awaited them both. He dreamed of them wandering the ocean depths together: hence the name of the boat – Deep Sea Dreamer.
According to the concept’s author, the submarine, which has an estimated price of 250 million USD, is also a superyacht. When the vessel operates as a submarine, it can dive to a depth of about 100 meters.
Functionally and really respectable o
A marine/ocean transport vessel measuring 33 meters in length has two decks: an upper and a lower one. Its living space covers an area of approximately 140 square meters.
When the upper deck remains above the water’s surface, it invites passengers to relax and breathe in the fresh air outdoors. Or it offers a cozy lounge area to stay in.
At the bottom of the structure, there is a transparent viewing bubble that serves as a continuous panoramic window. Passengers will be able to admire the deep-sea flora and fauna through it and the transparent floor.
Steve Kozloff hopes that the lower – main – deck of the Deep Sea Dreamer will be the most appealing to fans of submarines and yachts. As soon as passengers enter the bubble, they are greeted by a lounge with four luxurious chairs, a piano, dining tables, a kitchenette with dishes, a supply of delicacies, a bar, and a host of various other amenities.
In the main cabin with beds, a bathroom, and a large wardrobe, you can take a nap or get a full night’s sleep. The ship also features a guest cabin with a separate bathroom, the publication reported. Designboom .
On superyachts The submarine has a large kitchen, laundry room, waterproof elevator, stairwells, and a large exhaust pipe for air intake. In partial submersion mode, it will remain on the surface.
How does it work?
During long journeys, the Deep Sea Dreamer can swim just below the water’s surface using a fixed dorsal tube or dive deep into the sea like a full-fledged submarine.
Its operation is powered by a robust hybrid electric-diesel system. Thanks to the built-in batteries, the watercraft can cover a distance of up to 160 kilometers, moving silently and without recharging. Additionally, the vessel Deep Sea Dreamer is capable of remaining stationary on the ocean floor for seven days, even in rough conditions. Its cruising speed is 11 km/h, while its maximum speed is 18.5 km/h.
The superyacht-submarine can be equipped with either a conventional anchor or a submersible mooring device.
