The Franck Muller Aeternitas Tower, soaring to a height of 450 meters, is set to become the tallest branded skyscraper in the world designed for permanent residence. The building’s roof will feature a massive clock from the elite Swiss company Franck Muller.
This will be the second tallest clock tower in the world, following the 601-meter Royal Clock Tower in Mecca, known as Abraj Al Bait, which was built as a hotel. Additionally, the Franck Muller Aeternitas Tower will be more than four times taller than the legendary Big Ben in London. (By the way, “aeternitas” translates to “eternity” in English).
The new skyscraper will be developed in partnership with Dubai-based developer London Gate and the aforementioned watchmaker.
The design of the skyscraper was officially unveiled at the Ritz-Carlton Dubai. The project’s cost has not been disclosed.
A Brief Introduction
Developer London Gate acquired a plot of land in the prestigious Dubai Marina area, where an unfinished 106-story building loomed over the waterfront. London Gate decided that a more monumental tower with a striking feature was needed here.
This cherry on top will be a gigantic Swiss clock. According to developer representative Tom Gill, due to the skyscraper’s significant height, the clock will be visible from six kilometers away. The clock face will measure 40 meters in height and 30 meters in width. “We wanted to create something that has never been seen in Dubai before,” said Mr. Gill.
For the Franck Muller brand, this marks its first venture into real estate. The new massive clock will feature a stylish Art Deco design, crafted from luxurious materials such as matte and polished metals, marble, and textured fabrics.
What Makes the New Skyscraper Special
Overall, the 106-story residential tower will house 649 residences, including one to three-bedroom apartments, as well as villas and duplex mansions. At the top of the skyscraper will be a single penthouse. The living spaces will range from 81 to 797 square meters. Each apartment will come with a balcony or terrace, a utility room like a laundry, convenient built-in closets, and spacious dressing rooms.
Future residents will enjoy a plethora of hotel-style amenities, including concierge services, apartment cleaning, as well as 24-hour valet parking and luggage assistance. Residents are promised the comforts of home and privacy, according to CNN.
Additionally, the building will offer medical assistance, a gym, sports facilities, yoga studios, and a swimming pool, as well as a cinema, music hall, and library. The luxury residences will feature private pools with relaxation terraces, music zones, and staff rooms.
According to London Gate, construction is set to begin in the coming days. Residents will be able to move into the skyscraper in the second quarter of 2027.
A Rapidly Developing Market
The Franck Muller Aeternitas Tower is a striking testament to the relentless growth of the luxury real estate market in the United Arab Emirates, particularly in Dubai. Moreover, the popularity of upscale buildings resulting from collaborations between design brands and developers is on the rise. Upcoming residential projects have been announced by fashion house Karl Lagerfeld, automotive giant Mercedes-Benz, and the 25Hours hotel chain.
As of October 2023, the city had 51 completed luxury buildings. By 2030, experts predict that this number is expected to double.
