If Only We Knew…

If only we knew how little our problems interest other people, we might feel hurt. But to me, this just highlights that no one will do anything for you, or instead of you. Each person is responsible for their own life. It sounds a bit selfish and harsh, but understanding this teaches us a lot. First and foremost, it reminds us not to shift responsibility onto someone else. When I start mentally sifting through options like, “Who is to blame for how bad I feel?” or “Who could help me solve this?” I immediately sound the alarm! I try to honestly admit to myself that I am either afraid or unwilling to take action. And then I remind myself of something that annoys me both in myself and in others: if something doesn’t suit you, fix it; if you’re okay with things as they are, then don’t complain.

I feel like I’ve expressed myself in such a way that I’m not even sure what I wanted to say myself! 🙂
