Ingredients:
For a 24-36 cm (9.5-14 inches) baking dish
Dough:
- 1.5 packages of margarine
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream
- 7 egg yolks
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1.5 tablespoons of vodka
- Flour, as needed
Filling:
- 7 egg whites
- 7 tablespoons of sugar
- 3 packets of cherry jelly (Polish, powdered)
- Apples
Frosting:
Your choice of any white frosting.
Start by cutting the margarine into the flour. Add the whipped egg yolks mixed with sour cream, vodka, and baking powder. Quickly knead the dough until it resembles the consistency of dumpling dough. Divide it into 8 parts and refrigerate for 12 hours.
Whip the egg whites with sugar, then add the jelly and mix well. Roll out one part of the dough thinly and place it in the baking dish. Sprinkle a little semolina over the dough, layer the sliced apples on top, and then add 1/4 of the egg white mixture over the apples. Cover everything with a rolled-out second part of the dough and poke it with a fork. Bake.
Repeat to bake a total of 4 layers.
