Carrots are more than a healthy snack — they’re a beauty booster. Eat them raw when you can. The vitamin A they contain supports your gastrointestinal tract, liver, and kidneys. Many cosmetologists call carrot juice an elixir of health and beauty. If your skin is dull and dry, drink half a glass of carrot juice on an empty stomach, then apply a mask made from 2 tablespoons of grated carrot, an egg yolk, and a few drops of oil. Leave the mask on for 25 to 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water followed by cold.
Tomatoes are rich in vitamins A, B, and C and help soften and refresh facial skin. The organic acids in tomatoes help cleanse the skin and promote cell regeneration. Use tomato juice as a lotion, or apply it to soothe sunburned skin.
MASKS FOR OILY SKIN
Pass a tomato through a fine sieve. Apply the resulting puree to your face and neck. Rinse off after 20 minutes. Gently pat a nourishing cream into your skin with your fingertips.
MASKS FOR DRY SKIN
Mix grated tomato with 1 tablespoon of potato starch and a few drops of oil. Grate 2 tablespoons of zucchini. Combine the zucchini with 1 tablespoon of soaked oatmeal and apply it to your face.
Rinse both masks off after 20 minutes using a cotton pad soaked in milk.
