Ginger tea: warming drinks for the chilly season.

Ginger is an effective remedy for preventing and treating colds, positively impacting the immune system, aiding the lymphatic system, and providing anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. It improves circulation, speeds up metabolism, activates weight loss, detoxifies the body, and alleviates fatigue and weakness. When used as a mouthwash, ginger extract is beneficial for maintaining healthy teeth and gums, as it promotes healing of the mucous membranes and accelerates tissue regeneration. Dried ginger root is much spicier than fresh ginger, so it should be soaked thoroughly before use. To make ginger tea, simply steep chopped ginger root in boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Instead of sugar, it’s better to add honey.

Ginger with Sea Buckthorn

For half a liter of water, take 3-4 centimeters of ginger root, 2 teaspoons of black tea, and 100 grams of sea buckthorn berries (honey or sugar to taste).

Steep the black tea in boiling water and cover it with a warm cloth. While the tea is steeping, mash the sea buckthorn and mix it with the grated peeled ginger root. Before serving, strain the drink twice to remove the seeds and pulp.

Ginger with Lemon and Honey

For half a liter of water, use about 4 centimeters of ginger root, half a lemon, and a couple of teaspoons of honey.

Peel and grate the fragrant ginger root, slice the half lemon into thin rounds, and pour boiling water over them. Let the drink steep for five minutes under a lid, then strain and mix with honey.

Ginger with Mint and Lemon

For half a liter of water, you’ll need half a lemon, 4-5 centimeters of ginger root, and two sprigs of mint.

Peel and chop the ginger root and slice the lemon. Combine them in a pot, add water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat, add the chopped mint, and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the drink before serving and enjoy it with sweets.

Ginger with Cinnamon and Turmeric

For 500 ml of water, take a 4-centimeter piece of ginger root, 50 ml of lemon juice, a cinnamon stick, and one teaspoon of ground turmeric.

Combine the peeled and grated ginger with cinnamon and turmeric, pour boiling water over it, and simmer for five minutes. At the end of the preparation, squeeze in the lemon juice, strain the tea, and serve it with pastries or sweets.

Ginger with Milk and Cardamom

Use double the amount of water compared to the previous recipes. For one liter of water, prepare 4 cm of ginger root, 4 cardamom pods, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of black tea, and 2/3 cup of milk.

Combine the chopped ginger and cardamom with boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes until it turns a golden color. Without removing it from the heat, add the tea leaves and a couple of minutes later, stir in the sugar. Finally, pour in the hot milk and turn off the heat after a minute. Strain the warming drink before serving.

Enjoy your warm tea time!
