Hearty Clay-Pot Beans with Meat

Beans with meat

  1. Soak 1 pound of beans for 2 hours.
  2. Cook the beans until they are partially tender.
  3. Cut the meat into pieces and sauté the meat in fat until it’s halfway cooked.
  4. Sauté the onion until golden brown, then add a tablespoon of flour to the pan.
  5. Stir in a cup of broth.
  6. Combine the pan mixture with the beans and transfer them to a clay pot, adding salt, a bay leaf, and pepper.
  7. Place the clay pot in the oven and bake for 1 hour.
