Homemade Bread Kvass and Easy Fruit Compote

How to Make Bread Kvass!
Cut rye bread into slices and dry the slices in the oven.
Place the dried bread in jars, add dissolved yeast and sugar to the jars, then pour in warm boiled water and let the jars sit in a warm place for 3–4 days.
Strain the finished kvass.
Store it in the refrigerator.
Ingredients: 500 g of rye bread (about 1.1 lb), 3 liters of water (about 12.7 cups), 15 g of yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar.

AND ALSO – COMPOTE
In slightly acidified water (add a splash of vinegar or a pinch of citric acid), add any berries and fruits you have at home.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer it for 1–2 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat.
Add sugar to taste and place the pot in a cool spot to let the compote steep.
Serve the compote cold in a pitcher.
