A friend of mine was dealing with a bit of awkwardness after her husband left town for a couple of days. One morning she stepped out onto the landing with her little daughter and noticed their neighbor. She greeted him, but her daughter remained silent.
The mother said, “Sasha, what do you say to the nice man?”
