Yet at some universities, entire groups of students can use a single microscope at the same time.
That’s made possible by broadcasting the microscope’s image to a screen.
The setup is standard — except the transmission isn’t coming from a TV studio; it’s coming straight from the microscope stage. The image is magnified and projected onto a screen. This setup lets many researchers observe organisms that live for only a few minutes.
