In Slovakia, the sale of the world’s first serial flying car has been announced.

It takes the car 80 seconds to extend its wings and transform from a land vehicle into an airplane. Klein Vision announced that the car will go on sale in the first three months of 2026, but it will not be cheap. A company representative told the publication. For example, based on power: buyers will be able to choose between engines with 280, 320, and 340 horsepower.

Currently, the AirCar operates on gasoline, but according to the company’s forecast, it will switch to an electric version “as soon as the energy density in batteries becomes sufficiently high.”

The developers also noted that car it will be suitable for tourist trips or used as a commercial taxi.

AirCar has already flown over 170 hours and completed more than 500 takeoffs and landings. The company Klein Vision announced that after successful testing, the latest version of the prototype – AirCar 2 – is in the stage of further development and improvement. The premiere flight of this prototype is scheduled for September.

Celebrity on board

Last year, the company KleinVision conducted the first passenger flight of the AirCar, with French musician Jean-Michel Jarre on board. He and the pilot flew approximately three kilometers in the hybrid vehicle over the airport in Piešťany, Slovakia, in just 10 minutes.

Jean-Michel Jarre, a pioneer in the genre of electronic music, described the experience as breathtaking.

In Slovakia, AirCar received its airworthiness certificate in January 2022, allowing for commercial passenger transport and paving the way for mass production of the vehicle.

According to experts’ forecasts, by 2040 the global market for flying cars will reach $1 trillion, and by 2050 it will soar to $9 trillion.
