As one can guess from this title, while working on the new project, the developers were inspired by Jules Verne’s novel “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.”
Last year, a Dutch company announced the creation of this luxurious vessel, showcasing two of its forms: a superyacht and a submarine. The bold concept involved transforming the submarine into a yacht and vice versa.
This hybrid transport vehicle, costing around 25 million dollars, can simultaneously serve as a research superyacht and a submarine. It is designed for 10 passengers and seven crew members. Thanks to its powerful diesel-electric engine, the 37.5-meter “Nautilus,” weighing 1,250 tons, can achieve a cruising speed of about 17 km/h on water and cover up to 6,000 kilometers. It is also capable of diving to a depth of 150 meters and moving there at a speed of 6 km/h with a range of about 200 km. The Nautilus can remain underwater for up to 18 hours.
This half-yacht, half-submarine features a luxurious interior, the visuals of which the ship’s developers recently shared online.
When the “Nautilus” is half-submerged in the sea, the upper deck remains open for viewing the natural beauty. The lower level of the boat, adorned with large portholes, allows travelers to observe the wonders of the underwater world.
The luxurious interior decor is worthy of a five-star hotel, the publication reported. Designboom Every corner of “Nautilus” is infused with an atmosphere of sophistication and wealth. The design was crafted by the best specialists from the Milan studio Officina Armare.
There are comfortable sofas made by master furniture craftsmen, as well as numerous chairs that can easily be transformed into sleeping spaces for a quick nap. Travelers will find four luxurious guest rooms with relaxation areas, work niches, bathrooms, and wardrobes. The beds in the rooms are positioned right by the windows, through which passengers can enjoy unforgettable views. The ship also features an elegant master cabin with all possible amenities. The floors in the rooms are partially covered with silky carpets. There is even an observatory on the ship, where one can enjoy picturesque landscapes.
When Nautilus serves as a yacht, it offers its guests a spacious sun deck equipped with a freshwater pool, a bar, and a luxurious dining table.
