Lazy dumplings: a recipe for those who value their time.

In the heat of summer, the kitchen stove turns into a home “furnace,” demanding the stamina of the cook. The goal of those opposing “kitchen slavery” is to simplify and speed up meal preparation, freeing up time for relaxation or work while ensuring no one goes hungry. This is a perfect example: despite their easy preparation, lazy cheese dumplings provide a substantial source of energy, packed with protein, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, and amino acids that are beneficial for the liver and nervous system.

Ingredients: flour – 180 g (+ for dusting the work surface); cheese – 350 g; egg – 1; sugar – 4 tablespoons; salt – ¼ teaspoon.

In a bowl, mix the cheese with sugar and salt, add the egg or just the yolk, and gradually incorporate the flour. Stir the ingredients until the “lazy dough” is smooth.

Dust the work surface with flour. Divide the dough into two parts and roll each into a “sausage” about 1 inch wide. Cut both “sausages” diagonally into 2 cm pieces along the entire length until the dough is finished.

Drop the dumplings into boiling water and cook for 2–3 minutes. Remove the dumplings from the pot as soon as they float to the surface, place them on a plate, drizzle with your choice of sauce (jam, sour cream, or melted butter), and serve. In the summer, fresh berries can be used for garnish.

Life Hack

You can freeze some of the dumplings by transferring them from a flat surface into a container or storage bag. If desired, you can make the lazy cheese dumplings savory by omitting the sugar from the dough or the water.
