Mercedes-Benz will build its first skyscraper in Dubai.

The Mercedes-Benz company, in collaboration with Dubai-based developer Binghatti, has unveiled a new brand symbol for the city. This is the Mercedes-Benz Places, a residential skyscraper standing 341 meters tall, set to rise in the heart of Dubai, near the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa (829.8 m).

According to Binghatti, the design of the new elliptical skyscraper will embody “luxurious living intertwined with the design DNA of the German automotive company in all aspects—from architecture and interiors to sustainable development initiatives and infrastructure.”

The curves of the hyper-tower allude to the sleek lines characteristic of ultra-modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The interior design of the skyscraper pays homage to automotive interiors through a futuristic lens. Builders will use natural stone, ribbed travertine, walnut veneer, and matte chrome finishes. These materials blend the innovations of German automotive engineering with the principles of rational design articulated by the Bauhaus school in the early 1900s.

The hyper-tower will represent a cohesive ecosystem. Across its 65 floors, there will be 150 residences—ranging from two- and four-bedroom apartments to luxurious triplex penthouses. Residents of the skyscraper will have access to exclusive amenities, including restaurants, sports and wellness areas, shops, exhibition spaces, parking, and many innovative services designed to enhance their quality of life.

The building’s cladding is not only a striking design feature but also a functional element, as noted by Designboom. It will provide shade from the scorching summer sun and generate energy through the integration of photovoltaic elements.
