Soak the poppy seeds, then drain them. Grind the seeds or run them through a meat grinder twice. Add the sugar, honey, and chopped nuts. Pour in the milk and stir in crushed pieces of hard, slightly sweet cookies. Transfer the mixture to a ceramic bowl and top with cherry jam. Serve with a wooden spoon.
