2.2 lbs of liver
14 oz of sour cream
3.5 oz of raisins
1-2 onions
2 bell peppers
1 tbsp of soy sauce
2-3 tbsp of oil
Salt and pepper
Start by rinsing the liver and removing any membranes. Place it in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface. Season with salt to taste. Once it reaches a boil, cook the liver for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly and then rinse it again.
In a sauté pan or deep skillet, sauté the sliced onions until they soften. Add the sour cream, sliced bell peppers, and rinsed raisins. Pour in the soy sauce, and season with pepper and additional salt to taste. Add the liver and simmer everything together for about 15 minutes.
This dish can be enjoyed as a hot appetizer on its own or served with a side, especially delicious with buckwheat.
