Polish hardwood floors once a month with a special wax, and wipe them daily with a dry cloth.
Mix a pre-prepared wax (a blend of beeswax and potash) into cold water, and add paint to tint the solution to your desired color. Apply the mixture evenly to the floor with a brush, rubbing it in as you go. Let the floor dry for 1–2 hours. Buff the floor first with a brush, then with a cloth, until it shines. Watch out for excess wax—too much in the mixture can leave a dull finish.
