Every host has a go-to dish for guests. Here’s a new recipe to add to your repertoire. When guests arrive unexpectedly, this quick and easy sandwiches will save the day.
Start by washing the meat, then sprinkle it with caraway seeds and sear it on all sides. Transfer the pork to a roasting pan, pour the fat left in the frying pan into the roasting pan, and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of water. Place the pan in the oven and roast the pork, basting it frequently with the juices that accumulate. Once the meat is golden brown and tender, add the prunes (wash them and soak them in cold water beforehand to plump them up) and continue to braise the pork until cooked through, adding a little water as needed.
Serve the dish on an elongated platter. Place thinly sliced pork loin on toast, surround it with the prunes, and drizzle everything with the pan sauce. Serve grated horseradish on the side, seasoned with salt, vinegar, and sugar.
1.5 kg of pork loin, 3 tablespoons of lard, 300 g of prunes, caraway seeds, salt.
