Short, intense workouts combat premature ejaculation.

Researchers from East China Normal University have made an intriguing announcement. They claim that just a short daily workout can help men overcome one of the most common issues in intimate relationships.

Typically, men who frequently experience premature ejaculation turn to medications for a solution. However, a simple trip to the gym could significantly enhance their sexual lives.

The team behind this new study asserts that dedicating just 7 minutes a day to high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can lead to improvements. According to the scientists, this approach can reduce symptoms of premature ejaculation in less than two weeks.

How Was the Study Conducted?

The researchers involved 76 men aged 18 to 34 in their study. Each participant had a regular partner with whom they engaged in sexual activity at least once a week.

The volunteers were divided into three groups. The first group practiced HIIT for 7 minutes daily over two weeks, alternating short bursts of intense exercise with rest periods.

The second group performed daily 7-minute slow breathing exercises, while the third group—serving as the control—engaged in regular breathing exercises each day.

Throughout the experiment, all participants completed several questionnaires, as reported by the Daily Mail.

After a few days, analysis revealed that symptoms of premature ejaculation had decreased in both the first and third groups. However, participants in the second group, who practiced slow breathing, did not notice any changes. By the twelfth day, symptoms were less pronounced in the HIIT group compared to the third group, where men performed standard breathing exercises.

In an article published in the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology, the research team stated: “Compared to the control group, the effectiveness of two weeks of HIIT exercises in alleviating symptoms of premature ejaculation suggests its potential as a new treatment method.”

The researchers cautioned that it remains unclear whether these benefits persist over a longer period. They also noted that the sample was limited to young men, indicating a need for further research.
