Preventing Glass from Freezing. Before you insulate your windows for winter, clean the glass. Add a few drops of glycerin to the washing water. Then wipe the inside of the glass with a salt solution (2 tablespoons of salt in 0.5 liters of water).
New Glassware Care. To ensure your new glassware lasts longer and doesn’t crack from sudden temperature changes, ‘temper’ it first. Start by placing a layer of sand at the bottom of a large pot. Arrange the glassware inside, fill the pot with cold water, add a few tablespoons of salt, and bring to a boil for 15 minutes. Once the water cools, rinse the glasses thoroughly.
Cleaning Tips. For stains on wallpaper, create a paste using tooth powder and gasoline. Once the mixture dries, wipe the area with a soft cloth.
Wrap a mop in a soft cloth and wipe the wallpaper from top to bottom during cleaning.
