Sweet-and-Savory Turkey and Pineapple Meatballs

Turkey and pineapple meatballs

  • 1.5 kg (about 3.3 lbs) ground turkey
  • 200 g (about 7 oz) fatty pork
  • 1 can pineapple (with juice)
  • 2 onions
  • 4–5 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons semolina
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Grind the turkey and pork together to make the meat mixture. Season it with salt and black pepper, then add the semolina. Finely chop the canned pineapple and mix it into the meat mixture. Shape the mixture into meatballs. Combine the pineapple liquid with the tomato paste and pour it over the meatballs. Bake in a preheated oven at 220 °C (428 °F) for 35–40 minutes.
