It’s a shame that neither schools nor universities teach us how to communicate with the opposite sex. Sometimes it feels like men and women live on different planets, speaking different languages, and are so fundamentally different that true understanding seems impossible. However, with a little effort, we can find common ground, care for one another, love, and truly understand each other. It all comes down to desire.
After all, you can’t fight against human reluctance; that’s the only thing we should start from. But this “want” or “don’t want” also depends on how well we manage our own selfishness. If we only wait for everything to be “for ourselves,” we could be waiting a long time. On the other hand, if we focus on “giving” and truly living for the desires of others, we can often receive the same in return much quicker. Yet, it’s crucial to maintain a sense of balance; we shouldn’t become fixated on others, just as we shouldn’t become overly absorbed in ourselves.
There is no such thing as eternal love, and perhaps we don’t need it. Over time, love should transform into something deeper, more significant, stronger, and more reliable. But again, it all comes down to desire…
P.S. Once again, I’m witnessing friends going through a divorce. And there’s nothing to be done—someone else’s life depends solely on the two involved. Life is so short!
