Tell me what pizza you like, and find out what kind of person you are.

It turns out that the choice of pizza toppings can reveal. At least, that’s what researchers believe.
Dr. Alan Hirsch, director of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, asserts that our taste preferences say a lot about our . A classic pizza can serve as a great marker for identifying personality traits.
According to Dr. Hirsch, social situations, such as a date, can be used to learn more about a person through their pizza choices.
“Typically, when ordering pizza, you tend to choose the same one over and over again. You select your pizza not for its nutritional value, but based on your personal qualities. So, if you go on a date, be sure to pay attention to what pizza your companion orders to understand their character and decide if a second date is worth it,” Dr. Hirsch told the Daily Mail.

What Did Dr. Hirsch’s Research Reveal?

The scientist involved 1,000 adult Americans in his gastronomic-psychological experiments. All participants underwent personality tests and reported their food choices, particularly their pizza toppings.
It turned out that those who prefer the traditional pizza option with one type of meat (like ham) tend to be irritable and argumentative. These individuals often take offense easily and procrastinate.
Meanwhile, people who love pizzas loaded with various meats are typically charismatic, alluring extroverts who enjoy being the center of attention.
And what about those who order strictly vegetarian pizzas? These individuals are sensitive, balanced, and easy to communicate with; they strive to understand others. All of this makes them “universal romantics” and ideal parents, Dr. Hirsch noted.
Those who favor spicy toppings are generally risk-takers and thrive on adrenaline rushes.
When someone prefers a topping high in protein (like chicken or seafood), they are usually sociable and fully display this quality in a lively group.
However, those who order unconventional toppings like pineapple or onion often exhibit aggressive and pragmatic traits. They also tend to be intolerant of foolishness.

And That’s Not All

Adding to Dr. Hirsch’s findings, representatives from the British pizza chain Fireaway shared their own observations.
According to them, pepperoni lovers “always bring the energy to a party,” while chili enthusiasts “thrive during emotional storms.”
Meanwhile, mushroom lovers are described as “complex and grounded,” while those who choose pineapple are “agents of chaos who flirt with danger,” the pizza chain experts noted.
They believe that olive lovers, both green and black, have such a distinctive character that others either “love them or can’t stand them.”
Dr. Hirsch emphasized that his research revealed more of a correlation than a causal relationship between personality and pizza topping choices. In other words, it remains unclear whether personality traits influence the choice of a specific pizza topping or if our topping choices define our personalities.
