This technical marvel is called a hoverbike (or hoverbike), meaning a motorcycle that flies and can hover in the air when needed. Apparently, the developers from a Japanese startup Aerwins Technologies – dreamers who are fascinated by science fiction cinema. Ultimately, from their dreams was born an unprecedented compact airliner, in which a motorcycle and a drone seemed to merge into a single entity.

The startup developers confidently refer to their model XTurismo as a “pioneer of a new generation of transport.” The bike allows you to bypass traffic jams, participate in rescue operations, and engage in recreational activities. Ultimately, it lets you fly up to your beloved’s window.

This is no longer just a development that has to overcome numerous tests. The flying motorcycle has already been showcased at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (USA) and has entered production. The first batch will consist of 200 units. A more compact version of the XTurismo is also planned for release. Buyers who wish to have such a model in their garage have already lined up for several years in advance.

What is so special about the hoverboard?

The bike with two distinctive rotors weighs about 300 kg. At a height of one and a half meters, its length is 3.7 meters and its width is 2.4 meters. This metal beetle with small wings operates on a hybrid Kawasaki engine.

The hoverbike can carry a payload of 100 kg, which is designed for one person. It can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h and can stay in the air for up to 40 minutes, the publication reported. Designboom .

The innovative vehicle costs about $777,000. Of course, for that money, you could buy a premium-class car. However, compared to the Japanese invention, these cars have one significant drawback: they don’t fly.

By the way, manufacturers have promised to gradually lower the price of hover bikes. Rumor has it that in three years they will be available for $50,000.

The safety of the vehicle is ensured by advanced control systems, auxiliary balance screws, sensors for detecting any obstacles, a panel to inform the driver about the bike’s position in the air, and more.

Attention: a spoonful of tar for drivers who dream of being cosmic riders. In the vast majority of countries, drivers of such hoverbikes will be required to have a pilot’s license. However, in Japan, they will not.
