The Quartet of Twisted Towers: German architects have designed the office of the future.

Can modern architecture truly captivate today’s audience? The experts at Büro Ole Scheeren have certainly achieved that.

This quirky yet harmonious structure resembles a fantastical four-legged creature in a twisting pose.

The complex will rise in Shenzhen—a bustling metropolis of 120 million in the southeast of China. Here, 23,000 employees of Tencent Helix, known for developing the multifunctional app WeChat, will work.

According to the designers, this original architectural project will seamlessly integrate into the future business district in Qianhai Bay. The building, consisting of four twisted towers, will serve as both the headquarters and main office for Tencent Helix. The skyscrapers will emerge from a shared multifunctional space called Vortex Garden.

The architects have stated that the complex, covering 500,000 square kilometers, will be twice the size of Apple Park—the new headquarters of Apple in California.

What Will the Tencent Helix Headquarters Be Like?

The tech company hopes that this grand architectural innovation will become a landmark for the area. The complex will consist of four towers of varying heights, with the tallest reaching 153 meters.

The facade of the Tencent Helix headquarters will be clad in modular glass panels.

The developers plan for the landscaped Vortex Garden area between the towers to offer employees a variety of opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Essentially, this space, featuring numerous glass and open terraces, sports and educational facilities, a fitness center, a conference center, and cozy nooks for relaxation, will become the heart of the complex.

On the ground floor, the Urban Forum will be lush with greenery, providing space for restaurants and retail outlets. The Urban Forum will help integrate the office complex into the urban context, as reported by Dezeen.
