Cream-filled tubes

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of butter (about 1 cup)
  • 250 g of sour cream (a thicker, tangier version of sour cream common in Eastern European cuisine; about 1 cup)
  • 500 g of flour (about 4 cups)
  • A pinch of salt

Mix together to form a soft dough. Place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Roll out the dough thinly to about 1 mm. Cut it into long strips, approximately 1.5 cm wide. Grease the tube molds with fat. Form the tubes starting from the narrow side. Sprinkle one side of the tube with sugar. Bake at 200°C (about 400°F) for 15 minutes. Once cooled, remove the tubes from the molds and fill them with cream of your choice. I used whipped cream.
