2.2 lbs (1 kg) of cottage cheese
1 cup (200 g) of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla sugar
3 eggs
2 tbsp of semolina (heaping)
½ cup (120 ml) of liquid sour cream (a thicker, tangier version of sour cream common in Eastern European cuisine)
Zest of 1 orange
2 tbsp of rolled oats
Margarine for greasing
Pour the semolina into the sour cream, stir, and let it sit for 20 minutes.
Blend the cottage cheese until smooth.
Whisk together the sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs.
Add this mixture to the cottage cheese.
Grate the zest of the orange.
Finally, incorporate the semolina and sour cream mixture, mixing everything well.
Grease a baking dish with margarine and sprinkle it with oats.
Spread the cottage cheese mixture into the dish.
Bake for 1 hour at 350°F (180°C).
