Belonging to a particular generation can often be identified by things like hairstyle or fashion choices. However, there are other indicators that reveal age, such as the way someone types on their smartphone.
TikTok blogger Tyler Morgan recently shared a video discussing this age marker. His conclusions are based on his own observations of friends and colleagues from various age groups, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Here are just a few of those observations
Morgan found that millennials typically type using both thumbs and often utilize the swipe feature with one hand. Meanwhile, members of Generation Z do the same but at a faster pace. According to the TikTok blogger, Generation X and baby boomers often use one finger, occasionally adding their index finger.
Those who are already 65 and older usually hold their phones with one hand and type messages using the index finger of their other hand.
Tyler Morgan also recalled another, less common method of texting—using a horizontally oriented smartphone.
The blogger is genuinely impressed by mobile users who have this habit: “Honestly, I don’t know how you do it, but it’s impressive.” However, the video creator did not specify which generation might be inclined to adopt this typing style.
Another distinct marker for determining a person’s age is the slang popular among different generations. But that’s a separate topic for exploration.
