Unmatched: Bill Gates’ secret yacht, priced at $645 million, is up for sale.

Breakthrough, dubbed the most astonishing vessel ever built, is unlike anything else in the world. This eco-friendly ship, measuring 118.8 meters in length, is rumored to belong to Bill Gates, the American billionaire and founder of the multinational corporation Microsoft. However, whispers suggest that the owner has never actually set foot on this yacht.

With a price tag of $645 million, the yacht is powered by hydrogen. It boasts a basketball court, a beach club with a spacious pool, a private hospital, a helipad, several libraries, a cinema, and multiple jacuzzis. Accommodating up to 30 guests in 15 cozy cabins, the yacht is serviced by a crew of 43.

Perhaps most notably, this is the first superyacht to operate on hydrogen fuel. Information for potential buyers has already been released. This ultra-luxurious vessel, which produces zero emissions, will be available for sale at the yacht show in Monaco scheduled for September.

The Breakthrough superyacht, which took five years to design and build, will be the largest yacht featured at this commercial exhibition.

What Else Is Known About Breakthrough?

Inside the vessel, there is a secluded four-story townhouse for its owner. According to the yacht’s sales agent, these family-oriented apartments include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk-in closets, a gym, a pantry, an elevator, and two offices with fireplaces.

Interior of the superyacht

The living spaces of the superyacht are connected by spacious staircases lined with bookshelves and display corners. “Each deck features cozy spots for private relaxation, such as a coffee nook and a gaming area on the bridge,” the agent added. The main deck houses a library and a dining area with a terrace.

In total, the yacht has five decks above the waterline and two below. Notably, the owner’s deck is situated 37 meters above the water, as reported by Daily Mail.

A standout feature of this unprecedented vessel is its 14 balconies, which are “invisible when closed but extend at the push of a button.”

As for the interior, it showcases a blend of textured fabrics, leather, marble, rattan, and bleached oak. All of this creates “an atmosphere of luxurious coastal living,” says the agent.

Jamie Edmiston, the CEO of the company handling the sale of the vessel, stated that this yacht “will change everything,” as it will operate exclusively on liquid hydrogen and a next-generation fuel cell system.

Hydrogen fuel cells have long been used to power rockets and cars, but nothing like this has existed in the maritime sector until now.

Compressed liquid hydrogen is stored below deck at a temperature of -253 °C. The heat generated during its processing is then used to heat the pool, sauna, guest bedroom floors, and to dry towels.

During long journeys or when clean hydrogen is unavailable, the electricity powering the vessel comes from second-generation biofuels. This reduces harmful emissions by 90 percent.

According to the luxury lifestyle news site Luxury Launches, despite the glamorous and high-tech wonders of this yacht, has never used its amenities or even boarded it.

Although Gates has never officially confirmed his connection to the vessel, media reports suggest that he is behind this project. It has also been revealed that Canadian billionaire Patrick Dovigi, CEO of the eco-friendly waste management company Green For Life Environmental, has expressed interest in purchasing the superyacht.
