GabyKorean inventors have proposed a new concept for futuristic cuisine, space food, and service.
Students at Honkik University have created robots that will serve travelers during extraterrestrial journeys. Young robotics designers Seoku Yeo and Sun-a Choi engaged in playful exploration alongside their mentor Tate Inyoung Kim. Ultimately, this collaboration resulted in the creation of a pair of charming snow-white robots, Nova Chef and Nova Server, who will be hospitable assistants for people staying in space hotels.
These versatile craftsmen will grow fresh produce on special farms, deliver it to its destination, and even prepare meals for the guests.
The robots have modular moving parts, as well as interchangeable body components, which provide versatility and mobility for the duo within the space hotel.
Nova Chef – humanoid robot equipped with interchangeable arms for various functions, including harvesting vegetables on a smart farm and safely transporting various items using special suction cups. This is how it will gather ingredients for food.
Nova Server will transport products and beverages, and it will also function as a refrigerator – maintaining the optimal temperature inside for their preservation. It will also actively interact with visitors at the bar and restaurant, the publication reported. Designboom Together, they will prepare fresh food in the hotel kitchen and offer it to guests eager for out-of-this-world culinary experiences.
According to the inventors, such works they will harmoniously fit into the realities of space hotels, where participants of future scientific missions and tourists will reside.
The first commercial hotel beyond Earth is set to be spacious guest apartments at Voyage Station. The American company Orbital Assembly Corporation plans to build the hotel by 2027.
