This reality, which was once the stuff of science fiction, could become an organic part of our lives within just a quarter of a century.
Journalists at the Daily Mail asked future experts how they envision human dwellings in 2050. These predictions were then fed into the Midjourney neural network, which generated images based on the verbal descriptions.
The results were astonishing. We are looking at a life in futuristic homes that will incorporate various achievements of the technological revolution. Aesthetic living spaces will meet the ecological needs of people, who will finally stop polluting the planet with harmful emissions.
What Will Our Homes Look Like in Just 27 Years
According to the visions of futurists and AI, the walls, floors, and ceilings of our future homes will transform in response to voice commands. Nanotechnology will turn walls into giant semi-transparent screens. Any surface in the room could become a touchscreen that executes various commands from the homeowner.

He suggested that homes in 2050 will be filled with entertainment capsules for solitude, packed with cutting-edge technology. However, it’s also possible that architects will design spaces free from technological innovations.
According to Mike Ralphs, head of digital technology at Quintain Living, the walls of future homes will change their appearance with just a touch or voice command. Nanotechnology and augmented reality will help display various colors, textures, or even the individual traits of the homeowners. These transformed walls will also serve as interactive screens for virtual communication or information retrieval.
Some experts believe that living spaces may even become somewhat smaller than what modern inhabitants of the planet are used to. As remote work is likely to dominate in the near future, people will spend more time in their homes. It’s also possible that multi-generational living will become more common.
Mr. Ralphs believes that the real estate market will be taken over by modular homes that will change their appearance according to the owners’ demands. Thanks to advanced technologies utilizing renewable energy sources (such as energy collection systems integrated into the building structure), future homes will be incredibly efficient and will feed excess energy back into the grid.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence will be present in all future homes, assures Mike Ralphs.
He believes that by 2050, “AI assistants will anticipate the needs of residents and manage energy consumption.” Voice commands and gesture recognition systems will leave traditional switches and buttons in the past. Homes will be equipped with personalized AI systems that will help with everyday tasks.
Additionally, future homes will feature plenty of greenery, both outside and inside. It’s quite likely that our homes will include farms for growing organic produce.
