When the closed circle is paradise.

In Dubai, renowned for its extraordinary structures, another architectural marvel is set to emerge soon.

The local architectural firm ZNera Space has designed a project the world has never seen before. It’s an autonomous urban center in the heart of Dubai—a futuristic ring-shaped city called Downtown Circle that will radically transform the skyline of this megacity.

This horizontal wheel-like structure, reminiscent of scenes from futuristic films, will rise to a height of 550 meters. It will encircle the world’s tallest skyscraper—the 880-meter Burj Khalifa.

The self-sufficient suspended city of Downtown Circle will stretch three kilometers and will be supported by vertical pillars, according to Designboom. The new city will feature a practical layout consisting of five levels, offering its residents fresh air, natural light, and breathtaking views.

The towering wheel will house residential buildings, including luxurious apartments, as well as public, commercial, and cultural spaces. Expansive green areas will fill the entire city, providing a diverse climate and an eco-friendly living environment.

To foster a closer connection between the residents of this new city and nature, the architects have decided to link two solid residential rings with a green belt known as the “Sky Park.” This park will integrate various climatic conditions and natural environments, including canyons, sand dunes, wetlands, waterfalls, caves, and tropical areas.

According to the designers’ vision, Downtown Circle is intended to become an integral part of Dubai’s urban ecosystem. It will feature zones for wild plants, food production, locations for solar power stations, rainwater collection, and air filtration.

A helicopter pad will be located on the roof of the inner ring. The transportation infrastructure will include a rail system with suspended capsules that will travel along the lower tier of the ring at speeds of 100 km/h, providing thrilling experiences for adventure seekers. The capsules will offer a 360-degree panorama of Dubai.

The concept envisioned by the architects at ZNera Space has been vividly brought to life by the Polish computer graphics studio Pictown.

The project’s creators anticipate that this megastructure will eventually become a landmark of urban and natural significance in the UAE.
