Have you ever seen a clear beer bottle? You probably haven’t—brewers use dark glass to keep beer from getting ruined by light.
And what about a dark milk bottle? Chances are you haven’t seen one of those either. But dark bottles matter even more for milk than for beer.
Researchers have studied milk and found something surprising. If you carry a bucket of freshly drawn milk into sunlight, it will lose its vitamins B and C. In fact, those vitamins can disappear after just one minute of exposure to sunlight.
Even diffused light can destroy these vitamins. Pour milk into dark glass bottles to preserve its quality and flavor.
